Backpacking Southeast Asia?

Starting at just at just a few dollars, they cost the fraction of the price of a regular guidebook. The information is regularly updated and geared towards budget travel. For the traveler who has everything!

When in doubt, everyone needs socks right? But not just any socks will do for the hard traveling backpacker. Merino wool is one of the best high performance natural fibers on the market right now. Warm when it’s cold, cool when it’s hot (yes, you can wear this wool in the tropics!) and best of all, they don’t get smelly. The ultimate travel socks.

Last but not least, for the flashpacker…

Do you know someone who travels with more electronic gear than clothing? The flashpacker is probably the most difficult type of traveler to buy for. Taking a cue from the all the gadgets they carry in their backpacks, a multi-country travel plug adapter is an ideal gift. An adapter which includes a USB outlet is especially convenient considering the number of gadgets, like mobile phones and MP3 players that use this kind of plug.

  • Great list. I’ve read the travelfish guides, use the adaptor and wrote Travelling Europe. They’re all good. Maybe we ought to add the Pelican and socks to our Christmas gift catalogue?

  • Flashpackers are indeed difficult to shop for!

I decided to include more of a universal plug adapter on my Gifts For Travelers Guide but I really like how you included one with a USB port.

Even though Flashbackers do travel with more gadgets than clothing, I’ve found that they almost always have space for another gadget.
